Agent Spotlight: Vicki Tyne

Meet Vicki Tyne, an ambitious and resilient agent from the Baird & Warner Plainfield office. Transitioning from retail to real estate five years ago, Vicki's passion lies in the dynamic nature of her profession, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities. "I enjoy being an agent because every day is different," said Vicki. She isn't one to back down from a challenge, either. "The tough times will make you stronger and make you a better agent."

When asked about her most meaningful experience so far, Vicki said, "It's hard to choose one, but the most impactful are those difficult deals that we muscle through together." What is your background? Have you always been a real estate agent? If no, please explain.

I have been in sales since I was very young. I worked many retail jobs which led me to meet my husband who was running his own family business. Once we were married, I joined him in that business. I have been selling formalwear and attire for weddings for almost 20 years. Then 5 years ago, I made the leap to real estate! 

How many years have you been a real estate agent and why do you enjoy being one?

Almost five years. I enjoy being an agent because every day is different. It's spontaneous in a way — the people I meet, the homes I sell, the deals I do. I wake up thinking, "I wonder what today will bring?" 

What is a meaningful real estate experience you've had with a buyer or seller? 

It's hard to choose one, but the most impactful are those difficult deals that we muscle through together. Just recently, I helped some friends purchase a home after their family home succumbed to a fire. It was an emotional time for them and the deal was not smooth or easy. But in the end, we got it done!

What's one piece of advice that you can share with other real estate agents?

The tough times will make you stronger and make you a better agent. Never take the easy road.

What do you think is the key to a successful real estate business?

Hard work and dedication to your craft are key!

What is something you like about Baird & Warner and/your Baird & Warner office?

I truly love the relationships I've made through my office and Baird & Warner. Not only are we #1 in Chicagoland real estate, but we are comprised of some of the best, most intelligent people you will ever meet. I learn new things every day!

What is one of your favorite local restaurants and why?

My favorite local restaurant is Sovereign Tap in downtown Plainfield. Great food, awesome atmosphere and in the heart of the town that is mine! 

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? 

I have three handsome sons who keep me very busy. If I'm not working, I enjoy every second that I can with them. I love doing anything active too, so you'll always find me on the go!

What do you enjoy about living in your town?

I am a 25-year resident of Plainfield. I love that there is so much to do here! Shopping, eating, hiking, biking and sports — I enjoy it all!
