Get to know Pranav Kaul, one of the newest agents to join the Baird & Warner Plainfield office. Pranav transitioned to real estate from a successful corporate career in finance, and in his first year, he's wholly embraced the freedom and flexibility that this career offers. 

Despite being new to the field, Pranav brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous experience in professional services, which has equipped him with strong analytical skills and a disciplined approach. He approaches every transaction as a learning opportunity and takes pride in offering the best possible service to his clients. "Every deal or transaction comes with its own set of nuances and the overall process requires you to keep upgrading yourself with more tools and better insights," says Pranav.

When asked about what he thinks is key to a successful real estate business, Pranav cites discipline and consistency. Above all, he values honesty. He knows that building a long-term real estate business is not just about closing a single deal but about earning the trust and referrals of satisfied clients.

In his free time, Pranav is a history enthusiast who enjoys reading and keeping up with current events. What is your background? Have you always been a real estate agent? If no, please explain.

I chose real estate as a career last year. Before that, I was a corporate employee having worked with a few professional services firms in finance.

How many years have you been a real estate agent and why do you enjoy being one?

I am in my first year. Having the freedom of my time and schedule is something I like the most.

What is a meaningful real estate experience you've had with a buyer or seller? 

Getting any buyer a home or successfully closing for a seller is a meaningful experience in itself. Every deal or transaction comes with its own set of nuances and the overall process requires you to keep upgrading yourself with more tools and better insights. 

What's one piece of advice that you can share with other real estate agents?

I am too new to advise people in this industry who have been doing this for far longer than me. I should rather be receiving advice! 

What do you think is the key to a successful real estate business?

Based on my limited experience, I believe in discipline and consistency. Most importantly, be honest with your clients — otherwise, you can grab one sales commission but may lose many referrals. 

What is something you like about Baird & Warner and/your Baird & Warner office?

I like the help and support you get. The Plainfield office is more like a close-knit group. You can reach out to your mentor or anyone else at any time, and they're always ready to help.

What is one of your favorite local restaurants and why?

I keep trying many. I don't think I have any particular favorites.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? 

I am a history buff so read as much as I can. I love watching podcasts on current geopolitical affairs. If I am still left with some more leisure time,  I lie down and do nothing!

What do you enjoy about living in your town?

I like that it has all the amenities you need within a short radius — malls, diverse food choices, great summers and it's near Chicago's downtown area.
