What is your background? Have you always been a real estate agent? If no, please explain.

Before working in real estate I was a manager and trainer at bars and restaurants. After having kids, I couldn't do the late nights anymore. Real estate offered me a balanced, flexible career path. 

How many years have you been a real estate agent and why do you enjoy being one?

I've been an agent since 2005, approaching 19 years this October! I love helping families achieve their financial goals and attain the American dream. It's incredibly rewarding to assist them in finding a home where they can create lifelong memories and enjoy a sense of security and community.

What is a meaningful real estate experience you've had with a buyer or seller? 

I've had the privilege of helping many families, whether it's a growing family needing more space, an elderly couple ready to downsize for retirement or individuals facing tough financial hardships who need support.

What's one piece of advice that you can share with other real estate agents?

Do your best and don't worry about what others are doing.

What do you think is the key to a successful real estate business?

Treat it like a business. Treat your clients how you want to be treated and take care of yourself — you can't pour from an empty cup.

What is one of your favorite local restaurants and why?

There are so many! I enjoy the restaurants in downtown Ottawa, IL and its nostalgic hometown feel.

I live in a small town and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
