Have you had the pleasure of meeting or working with DJ Wall from the Baird & Warner Plainfield office? Get familiar with her in this Agent Spotlight where we'll dive into her professional history, her experiences with clients and more.

DJ has been a real estate agent for over three years, but her background encompasses a wide variety of roles in retail, photography, customer service and hospitality. With her wealth of experience, she's even been able to turn a few former customers into real estate clients. One of her most outstanding real estate experiences was with a couple who were patients of the dermatology clinic where she used to work. DJ was able to help them sell their home of 25 years and move into a beautiful retirement community. "It was so special to not only spend time with them after not seeing them for a few years but also to see them transition into the next chapter of their lives," says DJ.

As someone who has spent so much time in customer-facing positions, it's not surprising that DJ excels when it comes to building the relationships that are the core of any real estate business. "Never underestimate the power of agent-to-agent communication," says DJ on commiserating with her fellow agents. "It also makes a huge difference to speak on the phone rather than over email or text."

When she's not busy helping clients find their perfect homes, DJ enjoys indulging her love for travel. If you'd like to get in touch with DJ, you can email her at dj.wall@bairdwarner.com or visit her website to explore current listings. To learn more about her in her own words, check out the following interview.

What is your background? Have you always been a real estate agent? If no, please explain.

I have done it all! Before real estate, my work experience has been all over the map. I worked in retail, as a freelance photographer and receptionist for a dermatology clinic. I even painted houses at one point. Lastly, I was and still am a bartender.

How many years have you been a real estate agent?

I've been an agent for three and a half years.

What is a meaningful real estate experience you've had with a buyer or seller?

All of my client relationships are meaningful in their own way. However, one stand-out experience I had was helping a couple who were patients at the dermatology clinic I used to work at. I helped them sell their family home of over 25 years and move into a beautiful retirement community. It was so special to not only spend time with them after not seeing them for a few years but also to see them transition into the next chapter of their lives.

What's one piece of advice that you can share with other real estate agents?

Never underestimate the power of agent-to-agent communication. It also makes a huge difference to speak on the phone rather than over email or text.

What do you think is the key to a successful real estate business?

Building lasting relationships with your clients is key.
