Get to know Diane Jamieson of the Baird & Warner Northwest Suburban office. After graduating from college, Diane spent several years in the corporate world but left in order to be more involved with her children.

When her oldest child finished elementary school, real estate became a pathway for her to transition back into the workforce. 17 years later, and needless to say, Diane has found her calling as an agent. She currently serves the Chicago Northwest suburbs, where she has lived for over 25 years. As an agent, Diane is highly attuned to both the intricacies of the personal and business side of each transaction. "While the steps in the process of selling or buying are established, the reasons that clients buy and sell are very personal," she says.  There is nothing better than helping a client navigate a purchase or sale that allows them to achieve the lifestyle of their dreams."

At Baird & Warner, Diane has found the support she needs to not just succeed but to thrive. She appreciates the training and support agents receive, as well as the company's commitment to philanthropic causes.

In her free time, Diane enjoys spending time with her husband Scott, taking day trips to the Gold Coast or taking a road trip to St. Louis. One of her favorite local establishments is Café Touché, an authentic French restaurant and wine bar. To learn more about her background and experience as an agent, dive in to the following interview. What is your background? Have you always been a real estate agent? If no, please explain.

No, I've not always been a real estate agent. I worked in the corporate world right out of college and then left it when my oldest child was 5. I got involved with my kids' school and volunteered in a variety of ways. It was a wonderful opportunity to participate. Once my oldest was through elementary school I got my license.

How many years have you been a real estate agent and why do you enjoy being one?

I've been an agent for 17 years. Time flies! The best part about being a real estate agent is the dynamic nature of each transaction. While the steps in the process of selling or buying are established, the reasons that clients buy and sell are very personal. There is nothing better than helping a client navigate a purchase or sale that allows them to achieve the lifestyle of their dreams.

What is a meaningful real estate experience you've had with a buyer or seller?

Each one of them is meaningful.

What's one piece of advice that you can share with other real estate agents?

Keep your client's needs and wants top of mind.

What do you think is the key to a successful real estate business?

The people — having supportive staff, leadership and many professional partners is key.

What is something you like about Baird & Warner and/your Baird & Warner office?

Baird & Warner is the best in my mind because of Steve Baird's commitment to ensuring agents are well-trained, embrace their fiduciary responsibility to clients and are supported with the latest technology, tools and supportive staff.  Not only do the agents and staff at Baird & Warner help people with real estate, but we are also role models for philanthropy by routinely giving back to organizations across Chicagoland.

What is one of your favorite local restaurants and why?

Café Touché, because I love all things French and it feels like an authentic French Bistro, casual and fancy at the same time.  Of course, the food and cocktails are stellar.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Friday night date night with my husband, Scott; Day trips to the Gold Coast, Road trips to St Louis. I love playing Daily Wordle, and I volunteer as a special events commissioner for the Village of Arlington Heights.

What do you enjoy about living in your town?

The close-knit community, the multiple free events throughout the year, parks extraordinaire with ball fields, tennis/pickleball courts, and downtown that has places for Happy Hour, dinner and a show all within walking distance of each other.
