The Annual City of Chicago Christmas Tree is Chicago's "official" Christmas tree, and 2025 marks its 112th year. The tree is currently illuminated at Millennium Park and will remain lit each night through January 11, 2026. The tree is walkable from the Chicago Loop and not far from Millennium Park's most famous feature, the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture.

Light of Christmas Drive Thru - Chicago, IL

Chicago's premier drive-through holiday light experience is the Light of Christmas Drive Thru, and it's back this year in the Armour Square neighborhood. More than 1 million LED lights synchronized with festive music create an immersive holiday experience. It takes place at Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, and will be open nightly through January 6.

Big & Bright Trail of Lights Show - West Chicago, IL

Returning this year to Sonny Acres Farm in West Chicago, the annual Big & Bright Trail of Lights Show is one of the best light displays in the Chicagoland suburbs. The festival takes place on multiple dates starting in late November, with highlights including:

  • Refreshments, including s'more kits
  • Holiday craft market on December 11
  • Photos with Santa

Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum - Lisle, IL

Now in its 13th year, Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum offers one of the most unforgettable displays of holiday magic in Chicagoland. Through January 3, the Morton Arboretum in Lisle will be adorned in spectacular illumination after dark, including four giant holiday animal sculptures.

Holiday Magic at the Brookfield Zoo - Brookfield, IL

Located in the suburb of Brookfield, the Brookfield Zoo hosts one of the most charming light displays in Chicagoland every year. On select evenings from November to January, Holiday Magic at the Brookfield Zoo includes a maze, tunnels, and animal-themed lights. Visitors can stroll through the dazzling winter wonderland among more than 3.5 million individual lights.

Magnificent Mile Lights - Chicago, IL

Although this year's holiday parade along the Magnificent Mile has already passed, the stunning holiday lights and decorations along this iconic thoroughfare will remain illuminated throughout the season. Chicago's premier shopping destination, the Magnificent Mile, is also one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city during the holidays.  

Willow Hill Lights - Northbrook, IL

Just a short drive north of Chicago, Willow Hill Golf Course in the community of Northbrook hosts its annual Willow Hill Lights display this year until January 4. Tickets are available now for this drive-through light experience, which includes 2.5 million LED bulbs along a gorgeous 2.5-mile course.
