Ready to shake off the cobwebs (literally) this spring? As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time to bring a little light to your home as well. A little cleaning and redecorating can do wonders for your mental health. A recent study found spring cleaning is linked with a decrease in stress, anxiety and depression AND it can increase your productivity. Furthermore, it helps with focus and overall, contributes to your happiness by boosting endorphins and providing a release for any negative emotions. That's a good enough reason to spruce up and hit your local HomeGoods if you ask us!

And don't even get us started on the benefits of incorporating things in your home that make you feel good, whether it's through new color schemes or just opening up your space. If you need some ideas for change, we've compiled six of our favorite spring trends to get you started below!

#1. Deeply saturated hues are in

Okay, after Pantone announced the color of the year was Viva Magenta, does this surprise anyone? Design experts are predicting a rise in red lacquer hues in the near future. From deep reds and pinks to browns and raspberries, adding pops of this side of the color gradient could make a huge difference in your home. If you own, this might be the sign you need to jump into the deep end and paint a whole room in the hue (or at least introduce an accent wall). If you rent, consider throw pillows, blankets, or fun accent pieces like rugs and lamps to incorporate the new trendy color.

#2. Upcycling is cool now

It's 2023, if you're not going sustainable then are you even in the game? Gen-Z has definitely led the charge to fold in more eco-friendly options into daily life, from the clothing they wear to the companies they support, but now we're seeing it melt into home trends, as well. Some sustainable designs we're seeing include using upcycled materials like lumber in our furniture, flooring and building materials. On a smaller scale, you may see it in projects like homemade quilts created through upcycled clothes rather than expensive blankets. The rise of platforms like TikTok and Youtube is inspiring a new generation of DIYers to get that eclectic, spruced-up look (without the big spend).

#3. Say goodbye to sharp edges

Is it us or are sharp edges so 2010? Curved everything is entering the picture and we're loving it. Living Spaces Interior Designer Courtney Marquez talks about the trend we're seeing, stating "this spring, expect a heavy influence from Scandinavia with circular-style accessories, such as woven baskets and pops of sherpa color palettes." Accent chairs, headboards, and curved art pieces are great ways to incorporate the design and change the shape of your space in a subtle way.

#4. Prints and patterns add a bold touch

The maximalists out there are really going to thrive this year. Between deep, moody colors and the rise of patterns and prints, homes are begging to be noticed in 2023. Designer Kristina Phillips predicts our living spaces will be full of fun fabrics, wallpapers and accent pieces to bring in fun contrasts this year. Consider removable wallpapers as a way to incorporate a new look without the permanence (or the big cost!).

#5. Stone that speaks to you

Whether you're redoing your kitchen counters or adding a pop to your bathroom, it looks like fun stones are trending in 2023. If you have the money to make the jump, pick out a corner surface that speaks to you outside of the usual light-colored granite and see how it transforms your room! If you're balling on a budget or renting and can't completely renovate, check out peel-and-stick countertops. They come in a variety of options and give you the freedom to look like you've redone your room without so much of the hard work.

#6. Lowkey lighting is cozier than ever

Sticking with the moody trends, experts are also saying cozy, comfy lighting is in. Don't even think about turning on that overhead light and calling it a day. This year, incorporate ambient lighting with indirect lights, wall sconces and statement lamps. This is also a great way to incorporate more of the above trends! From using eco-friendly lightbulbs to utilizing this as an opportunity to bring in curved or color-appropriate accent pieces, changing up your lighting is an easy way to change the whole mood of your living space.

Spring is finally here, let's make your home feel like it, too!

If you're ready for a reset, this is the sign you needed to go forth and make your living space feel new.
