That spirit of support starts at the top, with Managing Broker Steve Engel. A licensed real estate agent in Illinois for more than 34 years, Steve has been a managing broker for more than 17 years. Steve encourages a culture of collaboration in the office: "I like to say that there cannot be a coup in my office because in order to have a coup I would have to hold all the power. I do not hold all that power!  I hold the power to help my agents achieve their goals that they set for their businesses and themselves." Steve encourages the Plainfield agents to "treat each other as colleagues first, competitors second," and enjoys helping all of the agents in the office achieve their goals. "As the Managing Broker I have seen agents start and become successful in the business. I have seen people reinvigorate their careers by moving to Baird & Warner Plainfield. I have seen a few achieve retirement. All of this has been my motivation and my 'why.'"

One of Baird & Warner Plainfield's favorite ways to reach out is the office's annual Pet Adoption Day every spring, in which the office invites local animal shelters to bring out adoptable furry friends so people can adopt their next bestie! Started by passionate agent Jenn Crowe many years ago, this event is a great way for agents to connect with the community while helping the community's pets find their forever home.

The office also enjoys participating in the Plainfield Cruise Nights and Homecoming Parade, as well as joining in Habitat for Humanity's local ReStore project. The office also contributes to the local economy through its participation in local diaper drives, Thanksgiving meal kit events, and community shredding events, among others.
