Orland Park is a prominent south suburban community known for its outdoor activities, as well as shopping and food establishments. It is located 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago and was named “45th Best Place to Live in America” by Money Magazine. Orland Park has an array of parks, restaurants and live entertainment venues that all serve to keep community life active.

Orland Park is approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago and located near several highways including I-80, I-355, and I-57. Metra trains are also accessible at three different stations in Orland Park and provide daily service to downtown Chicago.

The village of Orland Park started way back in 1834 when Henry Taylor became the area’s first settler. Other notable settlers included William Myrick, Jacob and Bernard Hostert. The railroad, which was known as the “Sedgewick Station” came into settlement in 1879 and soon after the train station was established as the Village’s Lake Sedgewick in Centennial Park.

One of the town’s most popular parks, Centennial Park, is filled of fun and excitement for a great vacation area or just to relax for the day. The park contains two piers for fishing, seven soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, pavilions, grills, horseshoe areas, nine baseball fields, walking and bike paths.
