In a recent study from Realtor.com, nearly one in five survey respondents said that they wished their current home had more space, and more than 15 percent of renters and owners said that “more space in the house” is a must-have for their next home — making it the most sought-after home feature among these potential buyers.

But when it comes to your home, is bigger really going to be better? As with so many important decisions in real estate, determining the amount of space you need will be a personal decision — based on your lifestyle, your finances, your wishlist, and your goals.  (more…)

We’re making real estate easier and helping our neighbors in need.

We’re making real estate easier and helping our neighbors in need.

We believe in doing the right thing — for our people, for our clients, and for our communities. In fact, we developed our One-Stop Shop model so we could do the right thing for buyers and sellers by giving them the best real estate experience possible. Now we’re using our One-Stop Shop to give back to the community during this critical time.

From May through June, the Baird & Warner Good Will Network fund pledged a $100 donation to the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund whenever our clients chose to work with our own Key Mortgage or Baird & Warner Title Services. Thanks to the incredible work of everyone across our company, we pledged $63,200 in May and $75,600 in June. In addition to the the $150,000 donation we announced on March 31, we’ve now donated just under $300,000 to support those affected by COVID-19 across Chicagoland.

These donations help organizations across Chicagoland provide increased access to things our neighbors need right now: food and basic household supplies; rent, mortgage and utilities assistance; and nonprofit safety and operations assistance.

Our agents, loan officers, and staff have always taken great pride in supporting the communities where we live and work, and that have supported us over all these years. Now, more than ever, we’re committed to being there for our clients and our neighbors in need. So when buyers and sellers choose our One-Stop Shop, they can rest assured that they’re not only getting an easier real estate experience, they are making a real difference in our communities.

As Steve Baird said in his open letter: Chicagoland, we’re by your side — no matter what.

The Market Is Moving. What Are Buyers Looking for In Their Next Homes?

The Market Is Moving. What Are Buyers Looking for In Their Next Homes?

For many people, spending more time at home over the past few months has provided a chance to think long and hard about what they truly want from their next space.

As a result, homebuyers are looking at housing “with a whole new set of eyes,” writes George Ratiu, Senior Economist with realtor.com®.

So, as we move forward, what features and updates will buyers be looking for as they kick off their home search?

Recently, realtor.com® conducted a survey of 1,300 consumers looking for a home to determine what features they want in their next space — as well as all the ways that sheltering in-place has changed their current lifestyle and how they view their living conditions.

Consumer preferences and buyer behavior are already evolving, Ratiu notes, with prospective buyers beginning to look for “larger homes, bigger yards, access to the outdoors and more separation from neighbors.”  (more…)

We didn’t let anything stop us from providing the best training of the year.

We didn’t let anything stop us from providing the best training of the year.

At the beginning of 2020, we promised to give our agents a year of training they couldn’t get anywhere else. And despite everything that’s happened, we never backed down from that promise.

While other brokerages scaled back, we knew that now more than ever, our agents needed training and support to see them through these difficult times. That’s why we got to work shifting from live in-person events to all virtual training sessions. Over the past three months, we’ve offered more than 30 virtual training sessions and events from in-house trainers and experts from companies like Tom Ferry, Keeping Current Matters, Ninja Selling and Tony Robbins, and Marques Ogden.

On top of that, our agents have even greater support from their non-competing managers, and access to our industry-leading toolkit, the ability to do their job without having to come into the office, and a collaborative culture helping them succeed.

Work for a brokerage that keeps its promises, no matter what.
