It’s Pumpkin Patch Season!

October is here and we could not be any more ready to jump into fall festivities! If you’re anything like us and are looking for some local fun in your area, look no further. We’ve compiled a list of the latest (and perhaps greatest?) pumpkin patches for you and your family to check out around the Chicagoland area.

Bronkberry Farms

Plainfield, IL

Located in the gem of southern suburbs, Bronkberry Farms is open through Halloween and has something for everyone. With pumpkins ranging between one to $75 and no admission fee, this could be a free, fun day full of Instagram opportunities or a more extravagant trip full of hayrides, caramel apples, crafters, face painting and more! What type of excursion are you planning this fall?

DeLair’s Cornstalk Farm

Orland Park, IL

Orland Park has a patch to brag about, and they know it. DeLair’s has a huge selection of prepicked pumpkins for you and is the only place in the area you can get custom pumpkins made to order (or you can choose from their designs!) It’s like ordering a birthday cake… but better?

While you’re there, be sure to check out their namesake cornstalks, homemade goodies, and crafts!

Goebbert’s Farm

Pingree Grove, IL

Calling all dinosaur fans! Get greeted by a giant, pumpkin-eating dinosaur, complete with smoke, as you begin the search for your perfect pumpkin. Ticket prices range from $18 on weekdays to $22 on weekends, and there are plenty of shenanigans to get into including a carousel, wagon rides, train rides, haunted mansion, and animals!

You can even drink some apple cider and let the kids loose on their brand new huge playground, debuting this year.

Puckerville Farms

Lemont, IL

If you’ve been lamenting for more fall, Lemont’s got your back. Puckerville Farms is open at no cost and dates back as far as 1875 if you can even believe it! Get a little taste of Chicagoland history (with a little taste of pumpkin spice, too), while you find your perfect pumpkin or gourd this season. And if you love it so much that you never want to leave… good news! They’ll be open through the winter selling trees, wreaths and garlands too.

Johansen Farms

Bolingbrook, IL

Johansen Farms is more than a pumpkin patch, it’s a whole children’s zoo! Come pet some animals, ride a couple of carnival rides and wash it all down with a freshly baked pie. You can even join them for a Trick or Treat in the Zoo night, open on October 30th AND 31st, where everyone is encouraged to wear costumes, visit candy stations and, of course, go on a pony ride.

Sonny Acres Farm

West Chicago, IL

Are you looking for more spook with your pumpkin patching? Swing by Sonny Acres Farm in West Chicago! Check out the Haunted Barn, which is a maze of creepy twists and turns, or try your luck on the Haunted Hayride! If being scared isn’t your thing… still come through in the daytime for some pumpkin fun, animal time and outdoor snacks (without any of the ghouls!).

Jack’s Pumpkin Pop Up

Chicago, IL

Your social media-obsessed friend has probably been telling you about Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-Up since summer began. Part carnival, part photo opp, and all fun – Jack’s is a great getaway for city-dwellers looking to get lost in a corn maze, play some carnival games and drink some boozy pumpkin-flavored concoctions with the skyline in view.

There’s more fun all over Chicagoland!

These are just some of the notables around Chicagoland. Did your local favorite make the list? Let us know in the comments the best places to check out this October!
