The Vanna Group Makes a Difference for First Responders

For the husband and wife team of Bob and Diane Vanna, the true power of real estate comes from making a difference in their clients’ lives. 

The Vanna Group is an active part of Baird & Warner’s First Responders program, which provides rebates and benefits for full-time police, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics when they buy or sell a home in Chicagoland. Agents who are part of the First Responders program are also certified through U.S. Military on the Move®, our exclusive program that provides a rebate to active and retired veterans.

The Vanna Group was the number one First Responders team producer at Baird & Warner in 2019, saving their first responders clients more than $15,400. For Bob and Diane, making real estate easier for those who serve the community is incredibly personal — and it’s an opportunity that makes them proud to be part of the Baird & Warner family.

“As an active police family since 1967, we know the day-to-day sacrifices first responders and their families make to our communities,” Diane says. “Helping a first responder family move forward in life, whether buying or selling their home, is a great feeling.”

“We were thrilled to be the number one First Responder sales team companywide in 2019, using the great tools Baird & Warner provides us to show our appreciation to this amazing group of people,” she says. 


In addition to their achievements in working with first responders, The Vanna Group also ranked number one in team sales volume for the Baird & Warner Edgebrook office in 2019. 

For both Bob and Diane, helping others achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding parts of being in real estate. 

Before becoming a Realtor®, Diane had a successful corporate leadership career in the insurance industry for 25 years. Now, she takes pride in getting the chance to see and feel the joy her clients experience when they take the next step in their real estate journey. 

“It is so awesome to work with someone on achieving a goal and helping them get there,” Diane says. “When a client thanks us for working on their behalf and you genuinely sense the happiness they have — whether it is buying their first home or selling their family home to move on to a new adventure — it gives me an incredible sense of service and pride.”

“Building a successful real estate business is two-fold,” Bob adds. “We believe in consistent and sincere marketing where a potential client is receiving worthwhile information that they find valuable… We also believe that every client must have a concierge-level experience when they work with us. So much that we want them to champion The Vanna Group to their friends and family.”

When not busy serving their clients, Bob and Diane are both active in their community. The Vanna Group hosts raffles, contests, and fundraisers on behalf of local organizations throughout the year, including a pumpkin decorating contest during the Halloween season which benefits local teachers. Bob has served on the Edgebrook Elementary Local School Council, the Edgebrook School Foundation, and Edgebrook School Friends. He and Diane are also supporters of charities including the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Outside of real estate? “We both love to read, are both runners, and have two amazing daughters who keep us on our toes,” Diane says. “Our youngest is on a National Premier Travel Lacrosse Team for Lakeshore Lacrosse. We travel to the east coast multiple times a year with her, and have so enjoyed watching her and her team grow in their skills.” Meanwhile, they love to support their oldest daughter, who is a member of her high school concert choir and soccer team.

As part of a long, multi-generational police family, Bob and Diane know the importance of helping others and building strong relationships with the people they serve — one home at a time. For Bob, the philosophy is simple: “Work hard, work smart, and be authentic to who you are, and the rest will take care of itself.”
