Baird & Warner Algonquin Is Accomplishing Great Things

On paper, Algonquin is one of Baird & Warner’s newer regional offices. But, as managing broker Michael Simpson points out, the team members who work out of this state-of-the-art facility on the Randall Road corridor have a long-standing relationship with Baird & Warner, and with the local markets they proudly serve.

“We have grown significantly the last one and a half years, and have a lot of new agents,” Michael says. At the same time, he says, the Algonquin office is home to “a solid core of agents that have over 15 years with Baird & Warner. No one should underestimate what this team is going to accomplish!”

And the results speak for themselves.

“After just one and a half years, we’re the number one broker office in Algonquin in closed sales, volume, and units,” Michael explains. In particular, 2018 was an award-winning year for this leader in the Fox Valley area. Among Baird & Warner offices, Algonquin was recognized for winning the most improved mortgage capture rate, the greatest number of listings per broker associate, and the greatest number of units per broker associate. Numerous individual agents and teams also earned recognition last year, including being named to the prestigious Baird & Warner Chairman’s Club and Founder’s Club.

“We are a high energy, results-oriented office,” Michael says. “We have a unique combination of top producers in our service area, long-time Baird & Warner agents, experienced recruits from major competitors, and a productive group of new agents. Everyone contributes.”

As managing broker of this growing office, Michael believes in communicating clearly and concisely, acting firmly and fairly, recognizing success freely and often, and having some fun along the way.

A line he likes to use all the time is this: “A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.”

“I like this line because it sums up so many things that go into being successful,” Michael explains. “It’s an action statement. You can study and strategize a thing to death, but it’s important to be engaged, in the game, taking shots, making mistakes, improving. If you do that every day, tomorrow will take care of itself.”

And this experienced real estate leader knows what it takes to succeed in this competitive market. Michael became a licensed real estate broker in 2001, after spending more than two decades in a successful career in international logistics. Over the course of his esteemed real estate career, Michael served as a broker associate for Baird & Warner in Carpentersville, before becoming the owner and managing broker of his own firm for more than ten years. He returned to Baird & Warner in 2017 as managing broker of the Algonquin office. In addition, he currently serves as President of the Realtor Association of Fox Valley, and as Illinois Realtors State Legislative Contact for the 33rd District.

“Michael Simpson has turned this office into a force to be reckoned within our local market!” says broker associate Jenny Jones. “He is available to assist his agents, supports a fun and caring office environment, and truly knows his stuff.”

Broker associate Beth Manzella agrees, and also shines the spotlight on office admin manager Cassandra Russell, the “glue that holds our office together.”

“She is a very hard worker, often multi-tasking, on the go, and making it look easy along the way. She is positive, organized, approachable, and knowledgeable,” Beth says. “When any of us are in a crunch, she rushes in to help find us a quick resolution.”

As an office, Algonquin is home to the best-trained sales team in its market, handling all aspects of real estate, including single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, vacant land, new construction, and relocation services. For buyers and sellers alike, the agents of Algonquin are known for putting the needs of their clients first — and for being true leaders in their community.

Recently, the Algonquin office completed a food drive to benefit the District 300 Food Pantry, as well as a major blood drive (on Valentine’s Day, no less). Over the spring, Algonquin plans to host recycling and document shredding events in honor of Earth Day. And plenty of agents also devote their free time to community service, working hard to support the Community Crisis Center of Elgin, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity, among other great causes.

Members of this office also like to come together for social events, including a summertime picnic held at Randall Oaks, and an annual holiday party, to name just a few events.

As Michael explains it, Algonquin was founded in 1890 as “the Gem of the Fox River.” Today, the talented team at Baird & Warner Algonquin continues that legacy of excellence, bringing unparalleled service and leadership to not only Algonquin, but also Carpentersville, East and West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Elgin, and more. Keep an eye on this office to see where it goes in 2019 and beyond
