Giving Back Moves Baird & Warner Forward

At Baird & Warner, giving back to the communities that have helped us thrive over the past 163 years isn’t just good business, it’s part of our DNA. And to help those organizations providing shelter and housing-related services in Chicagoland do even more, we created the Good Will Network in 2002.

Prompted by recent studies showing that today’s consumers actually prefer brands that support charitable causes, the Daily Herald reached out to the founder of our Good Will Network to learn more about our approach. In her response, Baird & Warner COO and executive vice president Jennifer Alter Warden shares how appropriate, effective, and meaningful strategies can drive results.

And the results are substantial: companywide in 2018, Baird & Warner real estate agents, loan officers, and employees volunteered nearly 1,000 hours at nonprofits across Chicagoland. In addition, through our Good Will Network, they donated almost $250,000 — contributing to a total of more than $2.4 million since the program’s foundation.

As Jennifer notes, the benefits of doing good, for those both inside and outside the company, can’t be quantified in dollars alone. “It’s about more than money — combining financial support with volunteer activities further strengthens communities.”
