The holiday season is right around the corner, and there’s no better way to jump-start your holiday cheer than with the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Deemed the nation’s largest evening holiday celebration, the BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival will take place this year on Saturday, November 23. A full day of magical holiday festivities, this is a celebration you won’t want to miss!
Hundreds of lighted trees brighten the city’s “Magnificent Mile,” better known as Michigan Avenue, for the highly anticipated Tree-Lighting Parade. Led by Grand Marshals Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, the parade features more than 30 floats, exciting marching bands, musical performances, celebrities and Santa Claus himself. Before the parade steps off, grab your spot along the route to join celebrity Mario Lopez in the “Largest Holiday Carol.”
Along with the parade, lights and decorations, the festival also includes an array of activities at Lights Festival Lane. Stop by 401 N. Michigan Avenue from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. for life-sized board games from ESPN Radio and concerts by top musical artists on the BMO Harris Bank Stage. The night closes with a spectacular fireworks show over the Chicago River—as if the festival wasn’t magical enough!
