Kristin Ellwein Jaman has been recognized as an exceptional real estate agent with a career began in 1989. Inspired by her mother, Kay Ellwein, a top-producing agent in Lake Forest for several decades, she grew up with real estate in her blood and observed and absorbed what it took to be a top producer. Choosing to make her mark on Chicago and the North Shore. This made her one of the youngest agents to work the downtown market in a time where “young” and “agent” were rarely heard in the same sentence. Consequently, she has been able to learn each neighborhood as it developed. In the beginning, her clients focused on Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast. Bust as Lakeview, Bucktown, Wicker Park, River East, River West, South Loop, Andersonville and Ravenswood gentrified, Kristin was able to become a market expect in each area as they grew.

Determined to be affiliated with only the best, Kristin convinced a top Michigan Avenue firm to hire her. Her manager explains that though “they never took new agents, there was something about Kristin that caused me to take a chance on her, she was obviously going to be a winner”. That manager was right. Kristin quickly rose to the top of the field and has stayed there since. Kristin has been a member of the Presidents Club, Founders Club, Chairman’s Circle, Who’s Who in Chicago Real Estate and has consistently been in the top 5% of Realtors nationwide as well as being featured in Crain’s, the Wall Street Journal, CS magazine and on the television show HGTV. She has sold over $175 million dollars worth of property and counting.

Kristin firmly believes that a critical aspect of her success is that she personally handles all parts of the transaction. In a world of “teams” this is a rarity. When you hire Kristin, you get Kristin, not an assistant. She stages, shows, negotiates and manages all aspects of each transaction. “An assistant does not have the same level of commitment and passion that I do, especially when showing and attending to the details that come up in the buying or selling of a home.” She only commits to what she can handle personally. Almost all her business is repeat customers, and their referrals.

Kristin has an unusually extensive area of market expertise. Due to the longevity of her career she had the luxury to learn the neighborhoods as they grew and developed. “There is nothing more important than market expertise. You cannot argue with facts. Being able to talk knowledgeably about particular buildings and their history is not something one can do unless they have been around the block a few decades.”

She is the mother of a young son, a wife, enjoys traveling and sits on the Lynn Sage Board which funds research for breast cancer of which she is a survivor.

She graduated from Lawrence University cum laude with a BA in History.
