John Baird
Chairman of the Board
John Baird is the fourth generation of Bairds to run the company. On July 8, 2008, he celebrated 62 years with Baird & Warner. During this time, he expanded Baird & Warner into one of the largest residential sales companies in the country and was a pioneer in urban redevelopment, low income housing and historic preservation.
John Baird led the fight for open occupancy in the early 1960s, often clashing with the views of traditional real estate organizations of the time. He worked on numerous urban revitalization projects in the 1970s and has been very active in land preservation through The Trust for Public Land, and in historic preservation with The Chicago Landmarks Commission and The National Trust for Historic Preservation.
